Every girl should own…

Hej med jer,

(English summary below),

This is an outfit from last week. It consist of two things that, in my opinion, should be in every woman’s closet. A classic white shirt and a leather skirt.

I have wanted a leather skirt og dress for a long time, because we all know how much I love leather 😉 But I could not find the right one. A while ago I happend to buy a second hand leather dress, but when it arrived, it was just not what I had expected. The sleeves and the neckline were not at all flattering on me. And so it just hang around in my closet. Until I got a brilliant idea! 😉 I could get a tailor to alter it to a skirt. That should not be too much work, as the dress was already naturally cut in two parts. But the tailor did not agree. She said that it would require a reconstruction of the entire peice of clothing and that would cost me more than I had paid.

But, I am not the kind of person that gives up that easily (vertainly not when it comes to clothes!) so I decided to alter the dress myself. I cut the dress in half where the “natural” parting already were, sewed in a waistband, cut up the back seam and put in a full length zipper. And I actually really like the result. In your face stupid tailor! 😉

I am by no means a skilled seamstress/tailor and this project could just as easily have failed miserably, as is the case for most of my DIY projects there is often quite a long way from my mind to the finished product 😉 More often than not I am overly ambitious compared to my actual skill level. But I am determined and never limit myself because of little things like skills 😀
